About This Event

We invite you to join us for this interactive breakfast for Women in Technology & Entrepreneurship. We are featuring Sacramento women in tech to give their insight on how they reached their level of success, advise on navigating the workplace, and how we can help the next generation of women in tech. This dynamic panel will be moderated by an expert in the field.

Our esteemed panel of speakers are pioneers in their respective fields, representing many facets of international tech industry.

After the panel, we will invite attendees to participate in a Q&A session with our panelists before we continue the rest of our busy day!

About the Instructors

Laura’s passion for startups was fueled by her experience working for a technology startup from its early stage to its successful exit five years later. Laura is the cofounder of StartupSac, whose mission is to accelerate Sacramento’s startup and innovation ecosystem by informing, educating, empowering, and connecting its startup founders and innovators. A veteran of the electronics industry, she has extensive private-sector executive management experience in a variety of functional areas, including finance, operations, manufacturing, marketing communications, technical sales and product management. Laura was a 2018 Honoree of Sacramento Business Journal as "Women Who Means Business" awards. Laura has a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Santa Clara University.

Sadie St Lawrence is the Founder and CEO of Women in Data, the international nonprofit organization working to close the gender gap in technology and get more women in the C-Suite. She was the first female data science teacher to teach on the Coursera platform and has trained over 300,000 people in data science. Her work has been featured in USA Today, Dataversity, and she is the recipient of the Outstanding Service award from UC Davis.

Carolyn Peer is an award-winning Human Capital Management industry leader with an MA in Instructional Technology and a BA in Cognitive Neuroscience. Carolyn started her HR Technology career as the Lead Instructional Designer at an early stage HR Tech startup called ProBusiness. ProBusiness was acquired by ADP in 2003. After taking a leadership position at ADP (running one of ADP’s Learning & Performance groups for National Accounts), she guided her teams to a top-20 placement in Training Magazine's Top 125 organizations and a top-5 placement in CLO Magazine's worldwide ranking in 2014. Between 2007 and 2016, Carolyn’s direct teams went from less than 50% engagement to 100% engagement. There wasn't a single other leader within the company's 5000+ leaders who had a higher engagement score in 2016. Carolyn left ADP in 2017 to join forces with two associates and to found Humaxa, a Machine Learning-powered employee engagement and performance platform that connects feedback to actions via meaningful AI conversations.
